Affordable Housing Created in Santa Rosa with Help from The Authority

Santa Rosa, Ca — Located in California’s scenic (and expensive) wine country, the City of Santa Rosa faced the challenge of keeping housing affordable for seniors and others with limited incomes.

In 2007, The Authority, in cooperation with the City of Santa Rosa and Millennium Housing provided over $10 million in tax-exempt bond financing to help purchase Leisure Park, a 182-space mobile home community that was about to “go condo” thereby eliminating existing rent controls and forcing many residents out.

With long-term rent protection, residents are assured of an attractive, well-maintained community for years to come.
